3 Questions To Ask Your Prospective House Painter

Posted on: 16 May 2022

If you want to have the outside of your house painted, you might think about doing it yourself until you actually look at the outside of your house and everything it will take to get the work done. That's when you should decide that you need to have a house painter come in and do the work for you. When you start looking for a painting contractor to paint your house for you, there are a few questions that you should ask them before you make your final decision.

Crew Size

One of the questions that you should ask is how big a crew the contractor will bring in. A larger crew is going to get the job done quicker, but too large a crew is actually going to slow everything down because people are going to start to get in each other's way. While the contractor may have a lot of painters available to them, they won't always need them for one job. Make sure that you also ask them if the same crew will be

References

Ask the painting contractor if they have references that you can look at. You not only want to read references written by former customers, but you also want to see pictures of the jobs. Looking at the pictures is going to be the best way for you to judge what kind of job the painters do. The pictures should show different angles of the house and all of the walls that the contractor painted, interior and exterior. If you can, you might want to see if you can drive by the house, but the contractor may keep the address confidential, and that's okay. If they keep the address of former customers confidential, that means they will do the same thing for you.

Warranty

You should also find out if the painting contractor offers a warranty on their work. There may be a warranty on the paint that they use, but that is going to be backed by the paint company, not the contractor. The contractor's warranty would be different from that. Their warranty would be that the work that they did will last for a long time. Get a copy of their warranty in writing so that there can be no confusion over what is covered and what isn't.

If you want to get your house painted, find a painting contractor who can do the job well. Asking them a few questions will make it easier for you to make your final decision. For more information, contact a company like Elite Link LLC.
